Health Visiting helplines

During COVID-19, health visiting teams will continue to support families who live in the Northern Health and Social Care Trust area.

Currently breastfeeding groups, new baby groups and well baby drop in groups are no longer taking place. Please continue to contact your own health visitor and you can also contact the Breastfeeding Helpline:

Breastfeeding Helpline: 028 9083 1408 (9am – 5pm Monday-Friday with the exception of Wednesdays)

We have also set up eleven dedicated helplines to allow parents and carers to seek additional advice and support about their child’s health and development or discuss concerns.

The following is a list of Health visitor helplines in addition to your normal health visiting contact number.

These helplines will be available 9am – 5pm, Monday to Friday and you can also email the Health Visiting Helpline at HV.helpline@northerntrust.hscni.net.

Pregnancy Helpline

The Trust has established a helpline, staffed by midwives, to advise pregnant and postnatal women (including staff) on pregnancy related issues, workplace and to divert any COVID-19 concerns to the appropriate pathway.

It will also support managers to complete risk assessment for pregnant staff in the workplace.

The number is 028 9442 4859 and it will be available 9am to 5pm Monday – Friday and 9am – 1pm Saturday and Sunday.

A Guide to Supporting People With Dementia has been produced to support carers and care staff in understanding and responding to changes in behaviour in people with dementia during the pandemic.
