Antenatal Breastfeeding Online Workshop

Mum and baby antenatal breastfeeding workshops online

New mums and their babies, including expectant mums are welcomed to join online antenatal breastfeeding workshops hosted by the Northern Health and Social Care Trust.

Midwives within the health trust are leading a series of free online workshops via zoom to help educate and empower mums during the ongoing pandemic, as many usual classes and appointments are restricted.

Breastfeeding can take some time to get the hang of as mum and baby get to know each other better. These workshops will help mums build their knowledge and confidence around the best breastfeeding tips to ensure you and your baby get the most out of the experience.

The support forum will run over a series of dates from August to December 2020, from 6pm until 8pm allowing mums to have more than one opportunity to learn the technique and feel good about about breastfeeding.

The classes will cover a number of helpful and important areas;

– Learn about the health benefits of breastfeeding for both mum and baby
– Hormones and how they work for breastfeeding
– Positioning and attachment
– Skin to skin contact
– How to know when your baby is getting enough
– Hunger cues
– Expressing
– Along with a chance to ask questions

Scheduled dates;

Tuesday 22nd September 2020
Tuesday 13th October 2020
Tuesday 3rd November 2020
