Weather warning and service provision update

The Northern Health and Social Care Trust has reviewed service provision in light of an amber weather warning. We are conscious of our responsibility to protect the safety of both service users and staff while continuing to provide essential services.

We have brought forward in the day many services such as renal dialysis. Patients who have planned outpatient or day case appointments this afternoon can attend, but we would advise them only to do so if they can travel safely. Patients can be dropped off at the front entrances to our hospitals. If patients are unable to attend their appointments, they should ring Antrim Area Hospital – 028 9442 4000 or Causeway Hospital 028 7032 7032 to reschedule. They will not go to the bottom of the list.

We have additional staff at our carparks and main hospital entrances to assist patients and carers.

Adult centres and day centres have closed for the afternoon.

We will liaise with the Met office and the PSNI as the day progresses and will continue to provide services as long as it is safe to do so.
