Advice 4 Health

In seeking to improve people’s emotional wellbeing, the Advice 4 Health (A4H) programme has been set up to help focus on reducing the risk factors that can contribute to poor mental health and lead to suicide.

The key aim of the A4H project is to promote the delivery of benefit uptake across a range of Health and Social Care settings, with a particular focus on reducing poverty amongst the elderly; people with disabilities; people with mental health difficulties; families with young children; and those living in fuel poverty.

Developed in partnership between the Citizens Advice Bureau and local Health and Social Care organisations, A4H works across a range of health and social care settings, such as community rehabilitation centres, GP surgeries and the local inpatient mental health units.

Four specialist A4H workers are available, working across the Northern area, to offer support to vulnerable clients referred to the project.
