Antrim Emergency Department

The Emergency Department at Antrim Area Hospital has been built to facilitate up to 90,000 attendances per year.

The 2450m² space includes a reception area with a dedicated waiting area for children; triage; examination rooms; majors (Adult & Paediatrics); ambulatory care; resuscitation beds; an X-ray suite; CT scanner and isolation facilities plus a full range of supporting accommodation. It provides the latest innovations in technology and a department better equipped for the number of attendances it receives.

The newly built emergency department represents the single biggest capital investment in the hospital for some years. It opened in June 2013 replacing the former Accident and Emergency Department at the hospital.

The Emergency Department is well sign posted from the hospital entrance; patients should turn right upon entering the hospital site and the Emergency Department can be found on the left with car parking available directly opposite.
