Robinson Hospital is located in Ballymoney beside Ballymoney Health Centre. The unit operates up to 25 beds as an intermediate care facility. These beds provide care for patients who require inpatient rehabilitation, a period of care and rehabilitation following fracture surgery, or for further assessment following an acute hospital admission. Patients with palliative needs may also be admitted to this facility.
Rehabilitation processes are supported by community multidisciplinary teams who in-reach into the unit to provide rehabilitation and manage patients discharge following assessment of their long term care needs in the community.
A group of local GPs manage the medical needs of patients who are admitted to this unit. Patients are admitted to this unit as “step down” from acute hospitals or as “step up" from home. All patients must be assessed as suitable to be cared for in this setting.
Robinson Hospital site also includes a Child Development Centre, Community Physiotherapy Department, Community Dietician and Parkinsons Specialist Nurse.
