Antenatal Education

Antenatal education
Antenatal education can help you prepare for your baby’s birth as well as supporting you on how to look after and feed your baby.  Classes are available throughout the Trust.

Early Pregnancy Classes

Early pregnancy classes are held for women from 12 weeks gestation in the WS Tweed Room, Robinson Hospital, Ballymoney organised by the physio department.

Topics include changes in your body in pregnancy, common aches & pains, pelvic floor exercises and exercise in pregnancy.

Antenatal/Parentcraft Sessions

Community midwives organise local Antenatal/Parentcraft sessions (after 28 weeks of pregnancy), to help you and your partner prepare for the birth of your baby and parenthood.

This is a good opportunity to meet other parents, explore options and discuss any concerns. Please ask your midwife for the details of sessions near to you.

Birth Plan

A Birth Plan is a record of what you would like to happen during labour, birth and afterwards. You will find a sample Birth Plan in your green Maternity Record and you should complete this before your due date.

Be prepared to be flexible as you may wish to change your mind while you are in labour.
