Advocacy support

Advocacy involves getting support from an independent organisation or person to help you express your views and wishes about your care and to help make sure your voice is heard. Someone who helps you in this way is called your advocate.

The Patient and Client Council provides advocacy support to all service users in the Northern Trust.

Mental health service users can access independent advocacy support through Inspire Mental Health (part of the Inspire group), a charity focusing on mental health and wellbeing services.
