Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) Service
The ASD Service provides a high quality specialist assessment and diagnostic and intervention service to children with complex disorders affecting communication, social interaction and behaviour.
The multi-disciplinary/interagency service includes a small dedicated team supported by sessional staff from core services. The team includes the following range of professionals:
- Community Paediatricians
- Speech and Language Therapists
- Occupational Therapists
- Educational Psychologist
- Clinical Psychologist
- Clerical Officer
- Intervention Therapist
- Link Worker
A common service has now been developed across the Trust which is in line with the Regional ASD Care Pathway.
All referrals are processed through a central point and appointments are offered on a chronological basis across the Trust. Referrals should be made using the ASD Service referral form.
Options for assessment are available including an innovative group assessment approach.
