Orthopaedic Assessment Service

The Orthopaedic Assessment Service service is made up of GPSIs (GPs with special interest in orthopaedics) and an Extended Scope Practitioner in physiotherapy and podiatry. The service significantly reduces outpatient waiting times by referring to hospital only those patients who will benefit from seeing a consultant.

The service is based at Ballymena Health & Care Centre, McGaughey House Whiteabbey Hospital, Mid Ulster Hospital, Causeway Hospital and Robinson Memorial Hospital, with clinics from 8 am to 8.30 pm.
