The Brook

The Brook is a supported living scheme in Coleraine, for 61 tenants who are classified within the dementia or cognitive impairment category.

The Brook is a joint partnership between Northern Trust, Fold Housing Association and the Northern Ireland Housing Executive. They are working towards an integrated model of supported housing with care for people with a diagnosis of dementia or cognitive impairment.

The Brook complex consists of:

25 x flatlets with en-suite facilities
31 x one bedroom self-contained flats
5 x two bedroom bungalows
The Brook provides:

A range of accommodation built to a very high standard in an attractive surrounding
Safe environment
Staff on site 24 hours per day
Innovative use of technology across the scheme to support people to live as independently as possible

Aims of the Brook:

To provide supported living accommodation, to enable people with dementia or cognitive impairment to maintain their independence for as long as possible
To provide opportunities for tenants to engage with other people, both in the Brook and in the wider community
To deliver a high standard of care and support to all tenants in their own home.
