Orthodontic Service

The Orthodontic Department is based in the Specialist Dental Services Building at the Antrim Area Hospital and provides treatment for patients affected by severe and complex malocclusions which usually require multidisciplinary care.

This includes patients with facial deformity requiring orthognathic “jaw” surgery, patients affected by cleft lip and palate, patients with severe hypodontia (failure of teeth to develop) and patients affected by sleep apnoea (sleeping disorders).

An advice service is provided for local dentists and orthodontic specialists.
