Children’s Physiotherapy Services

Paediatric physiotherapists work with children and young people of all ages from premature babies to adolescents to ensure optimal physical function and development.

The service is provided in the Child Development Centres in Antrim and Ballymoney, schools for children with special needs, mainstream schools, children’s homes, respite facilities, some outpatient departments, paediatric wards at Antrim Area and Causeway Hospitals and the neonatal unit at Antrim Area Hospital.

The service is available from 9.00am – 5.00pm, Monday – Friday.

Appropriate referrals are accepted from any of the following health professionals:

  • Hospital Consultant or Registrar, Community Paediatricians
  • General Practitioners
  • Allied Health Professionals
  • Community Children’s Nurse

If you are unsure whether a referral is required please contact your local paediatric physiotherapy team to speak to a physiotherapist who will be happy to help and provide information and advice leaflets as appropriate.

In the event that no one is available please leave a message and someone will return your call.
