Service, Treatment, Education and Prevention (STEP) Team

The Service, Treatment, Education and Prevention Team has been developed to identify young people (14-34 years) that have an increased risk of developing psychosis. Most people seen by the service never develop such problems.

Using evidence based assessment procedures; the service assesses and offers a range of psychological and social treatment packages aimed at delaying and preventing psychosis from occurring. The STEP team is made up of both psychology and psychiatry staff.

The service operates Monday – Wednesday, 9.00am – 5.00pm

Referrals

Currently the team accepts referrals from Community Mental Health Teams and Child and Adolescent Mental Health Teams and GPs. Clients are seen at various bases throughout the Trust. Please contact the service to obtain their referral Pro-forma.
