Northern Trust launch workplace policy on domestic violence

The Northern Trust hosted a seminar in Ballymena on Wednesday 11 September, to launch their Workplace Policy on Domestic Violence and Abuse and Safe Place Initiative. The purpose of the policy is to support staff who experience domestic abuse, and to advise staff and managers how to respond to staff who are alleged or confirmed perpetrators of domestic violence.

Safe Place is an initiative offering information on the wide range of services available to all victims of domestic violence. The Safe Place logo indicates that information on services for victims of domestic violence is available on the premises.

Tracy Magill, Head of Safeguarding and Family Support Service with the Northern Trust said, “The policy ensures that employees who are experiencing domestic abuse will be safe at work and have the support available inside the workplace, as well as being signposted to other agencies who can help”.

For anyone who is affected by domestic violence, please call the Domestic Violence Helpline Telephone 0800 917 1414. The helpline supports male and female victims of domestic violence and abuse.
