Fostering Awards ceremony held
The Northern Trust in partnership with Fostering Network hosted an awards ceremony on the 16 November in The Braid, Ballymena to recognise the achievements of young people in care.
This is the fourth annual achievement award ceremony run in the Northern Trust and over 90 young people were nominated for awards ranging from settling into a new school, getting their swimming badge, starting university or vocational training.
Marie Roulston, Director of Children’s Services with the Northern Trust, said: “It is important to recognise the achievements of these young people and indeed the support they receive from their carers in helping them reach their potential”.
Margaret Kelly, Director of the Fostering Network said “We were delighted to work with the Northern Trust to recognise the achievements of young people in foster and kinship care at our fourth annual Achievement Awards. We had a record number of young people nominated for awards this year, which is testament to the hard work of all the young people involved. Along with the Northern Trust we’re pleased to recognise the young people’s hard work throughout the year, with achievements varying from young people learning to swim to starting university.”
