New Palliative Care Web Resource to benefit people in East Antrim
The Northern Trust is working to address the information and support needs of patients receiving palliative care, as well as their families and carers within the Northern Trust area.
Providing relevant, high-quality and up to date information in the form of a palliative care web resource will help people affected by a range of life-limiting illnesses and their families and carers’ make informed decisions, and reduce unnecessary anxiety and distress.
The web resource has been designed to provide a wide range of relevant, supportive and up to date information for patients, their families and carer’s about Northern Trust services including; the Northern Trust Benefits Advice Service, Carers’ Service and the Macmillan Information and Support Service.
There is also a detailed Palliative Care Service Directory featuring the latest contact information on local support and user groups, local and national charities and emergency contacts. A specialist section is also dedicated to the subject of preparing for the future, which is essential for patients and their families to enable them to live well until the end of life and enable their wishes to be fulfilled.
In addition, the web resource offers extensive information and support for carer’s of patients who are receiving palliative care to ensure they receive the right information and support to care for their loved ones effectively and safely, as well as bereavement support in times of need.
The Northern Trust is committed to providing information, help and support to palliative care patients and service users; their carers and families from diagnosis to treatment, living with and support after a life-limiting illness.
The palliative care web resource will feature under the Northern Trust external website’s A-Z of Services for ease of access for service users.
