Causeway Hospital nurse awarded BEM

The Senior Management of the Northern Trust would like to congratulate Mary Glass, Diabetes Nurse Specialist based at Causeway Hospital, who was awarded Medallist of the Order of the British Empire (BEM) in the New Year’s Honours List, for services to nursing and the community.

Mary is a very dedicated clinical nurse specialist who works between hospital and community, helping people living with diabetes, and their families or carers. Mary also helps educate and train health care professionals in Diabetes.

Eileen McEneaney, Executive Director of Nursing in the Northern Trust said: “I have spoken to many colleagues within the Trust and we are all delighted that Mary has been recognised for her work and the difference she has made to the lives of patients and their families who are living with diabetes in managing their condition. Mary is a great example of someone who goes above and beyond to help those who need it and is a valuable member of the team providing care in the local area. It is a much deserved Award.”
