Inniscoole Day Centre celebrates 50 years of success
Inniscoole Day Centre in Newtownabbey has celebrated its 50th anniversary in style with a themed garden party.
Recognising the importance of the centre for service users and their families, we were delighted to be able to include so many close family and friends in the celebration, creating an afternoon to remember for everyone.
Ahead of the special day, service users and staff were very busy preparing the garden areas and potting plants, as well as creating the ‘wall of roses’ which was on display at the main entrance for all to admire.
The team was also thrilled to welcome the Mayor of Antrim and Newtownabbey Borough Council, Councillor Leah Kirkpatrick to the event, where she kindly took part in a tree planting ceremony to mark the anniversary.
Reflecting on the significance of 50 years of Inniscoole, Director of Community Care, Diane Spence said: “Half a century ago, this centre opened its doors to support and bring people together.
“What started as a vision has grown into a vital part of the community – a place of care, compassion, and connection. Over the years, Inniscoole has become much more than a day centre. It’s become a central part of so many lives and it’s a place filled with stories, laughter, friendships, and memories that span generations.
“50 years is a remarkable achievement, and as we celebrate the past, let us look ahead to the future with excitement and anticipation.”
