On average, young people spend around £277 on extra expenses every month as a result of having a cancer diagnosis and/or treatment, and may find they are struggling to play catch-up with normal bills and day-to-day expenses – there is financial help for young people living with cancer.

CLIC Sargent

CLIC Sargent gives grants to young people to help with immediate financial needs. Any family with a child or young person aged 24 or under and who is receiving treatment for cancer, or palliative care, can apply. The Northern Ireland Cancer Fund for Children

The Northern Ireland Cancer Fund for Children offers support to children and young people with cancer, and their families, throughout Northern Ireland. This includes financial help with the cost of travel to hospital, and help with the cost of home heating. This financial help is not means tested.
