Child Health Development and Emotional Wellbeing Services
The Child Health Development and Emotional Wellbeing Services (CHDEWS) are a group of services who work together to support the emotional wellbeing and mental health needs of children and young people.
Our family of services work in an integrated way to provide high quality, evidence-based support and intervention to meet the needs of the children and young people referred to our services.
Our services are specialist, community-based and multi-disciplinary with trained professionals who have expertise in working with children, young people and their families.
We provide a range of interventions which may include:
- support and advice
- assessment
- individual work with young people
- family based work
- parenting groups
- group work with young people
- specialist psychological therapies
Referrals come from your GP or other health/social care or educational professional. We do not accept self-referrals. All referrals come through our Children’s Referral Service (CRS) who review the information and make a decision about which service best meets the needs of your child or young person. Our Children’s Referral Service may contact you for more information.
