Children’s Early Intervention Service (Step 2 CAMHS)
The Children’s Early Intervention Service (CEIS) provides support and advice to children, young people and their families who are experiencing emotional and/or behavioural difficulties which are impacting on the child, young person or families functioning.
This service provides support and intervention to young people experiencing mild to moderate levels of difficulty and those whose needs are best met within CEIS due to the type difficulty they are experiencing.
We are a community-based and multi-disciplinary service, staffed by trained professionals who have expertise in working with children, young people and their families with a range of difficulties.
The service offers group interventions for children and young people in line with best practice in early intervention. These groups aim to support children and young people with a number of problems such as anxiety, low mood and emotional regulation.
We provide the Parents Plus evidence-based parenting programmes which offer a suite of different programmes including the children’s parenting group, parenting adolescents and parenting children and young people with ADHD. We also provide individual work in the form of structured self-help approaches, behavioural therapy, and/or family support, to reduce the impact of problems and prevent their escalation to greater/more significant difficulties.
