Dementia Support groups
The Alzheimers Society’s Dementia Support Service offers help and signposting to services for people with dementia and their carers. This service includes a home visit.
Carer support groups are held throughout the Northern Trust area to provide families affected by dementia with an opportunity to meet, share experiences and get help for their caring role.

Carer Support Groups
Second Monday of the month from 2.00pm-3.30pm in Clotworthy House, Antrim
Third Tuesday of the month from 7.00pm-8.30pm in Wilson House, Broughshane
First Tuesday of the month from 7.30pm-9.00pm at Coleraine Rugby Club, Rugby Avenue, Coleraine.
An early stage peer support group meets on the second Monday of the month from 2.30pm-4.00pm in Coleraine Rugby Club, Rugby Avenue, Coleraine. This is for people with dementia and their carers.
Younger people with dementia (aged under 65) and their carers meet once a month in Garvagh Community Development Building, Main Street, Garvagh.

First Tuesday of the month from 1.30pm-3.00pm in Monkstown Village Centre, Monkstown Road, Newtownabbey
Third Monday of the month from 11.00am-12.30pm in SACT, Dennison Industrial Estate, Mill Road, Ballyclare
Last Tuesday of the month from 6.00pm-7.30pm in The Prom Café, Larne Leisure Centre, Tower Road, Larne. This group is for carers and people living with dementia.
Third Wednesday of the month from 12.00pm-1.30pm in The Hub, 14 Burn Road, Cookstown
Fourth Tuesday of the month from 7.00pm-8.30pm in The Lurach Centre, Church Street, Maghera
A support group for carers of people with early onset dementia meets on the fourth Friday of every month, 2.00pm-3.00pm in Mitchell Hall, Station Road, Maghera.

The Northern Trust has a Carers Co-ordinator who can give advice and support on all issues relating to being a carer.
