Industrial Action 2019

The Royal College of Nursing (RCN), Unison, Unite and NIPSA have announced that they intend to take both strike and action short of strike.  Information to advise service users of any potential disruption will be provided here and updated regularly.

Information will also be posted on the Trust social media channels.

The Chief Executives of all five Trusts in Northern Ireland issued a public letter in relation to the Industrial Action.

Planned Industrial Action

Monday 9 – Friday 13 December

Unison action short of strike, involving all staff will take place throughout the week.

RCN Industrial action short of strike will take place on Tuesday and Wednesday of the week.

Wednesday 11 December 2019

Unison strike action will take place in Causeway Hospital and the surrounding area from 7.30am until 7.30pm.

Current anticipated impact is cancellation of:

• 5 routine inpatients,
• 6 routine daycases
• 1 routine diagnostic

All affected patients will be contacted directly.

The Trust continues to work with Trade Unions and will provide information on any anticipated disruption as soon as it becomes available.
