Child Safety Week 2022

Helping families stop serious accidents lies at the heart of Child Safety Week, 6-12 June 2022.

The week is ran in partnership with the Child Accident Prevention Trust (CAPT) to help raise awareness of the types of common child accidents, the risks associated and how they can be prevented.

We want all children to have the freedom to grow and learn, safe from serious harm. Therefore we aim to help families build confidence and skills in managing the real risks to children’s safety. Being clear what the risks are at each stage of a child’s development and knowing what simple changes to make means parents can feel confident to take charge.

That’s why the theme for Child Safety Week 2022 is ‘Safety in mind’. We want to make sure busy families have the ‘Safety in mind’ that really matters, especially when under pressure.

Across the Northern Health Trust this week, you can join any of the free Child Safety Event sessions taking place with our Public Health Nursing teams, who are sharing guidance and advice on child safety information on care in the sun, home accident prevention, choking, burns and much more.
