Industrial Action – September 2023

Industrial Action – Full Strike Action is planned by a number of Trade Unions (UNISON, NIPSA, UNITE, GMB, Society of Radiographers, Chartered Society of Physiotherapists, Royal College of Midwives) on Thursday 21 and Friday 22 September 2023 (Society of Radiographers extends until 08:00 on Saturday 23 September 2023).

In addition, Industrial Action Short of Strike continues in the case of a number of Trade Unions i.e. UNISON, NIPSA, UNITE, GMB.

We are expecting a number of our services to be impacted on Thursday 21 and Friday 22 September 2023, including:

• Outpatient clinics: physiotherapy, anaesthetics, trauma and orthopaedics, fractures, midwifery;
• Inpatient / daycase treatments: cardiology, endoscopy, general surgery, pain management;
• Radiology
• Mental health: psychological services, memory assessment services, community addiction services and community mental health;
• Community services: domiciliary care, treatment rooms, district nursing, Hospital Diversion Nursing Team, day centres;
• Children’s services
• Public Health nursing

The Trust continues to work with Trade Unions to try to minimise the impact of any industrial action on our patients and service users.

Our message to patients and service users is that they should attend all appointments unless contacted by the Trust to advise otherwise.
