Do you use the Northern Adult Autism Advisory Service?

From April, it’s implementing a number of changes in response to feedback received through its recent consultation survey.

Drop-in sessions

Drop-in sessions held on the first Tuesday of every month will move to the new time of 4.30pm – 6.30pm.

The sessions will continue to be held in different locations every month, providing individual support and signposting around employment, education, benefits, housing and autism services. Please note onward referrals to partner organisations and agencies require consent from the autistic adult.

The next session will take place on Tues 1 April in Triangle Housing Association Offices, 60 Eastermeade Gardens, Ballymoney BT53 6BD, with the Northern Trust’s Adult Autism team and staff from Cedar, NIHE and Triangle Progression to Employment Service in attendance.

Online educational awareness sessions

It will continue to provide quarterly online educational awareness sessions with a focus this year on emotional health and wellbeing.

These sessions are free to join and will take place at the new time of 7pm-8pm. The next upcoming session will take place on Mon 19 May.

Job clinics

It’s planning to hold four job clinics at different locations to support autistic individuals, focused on CV writing, interview skills and interview prep. Further details to follow.

NAAAS is a network of organisations that work together to support autistic individuals aged 16+, along with their partners, parents, caregivers, and other professionals.
