Accreditation recognises excellent work of mental health team
Coleraine Community Mental Health Team is celebrating success after achieving accreditation from the Royal College of Psychiatrists (RCP).
Reflecting on the success, team leader Tracey McCabe said: “Gaining this three-year accreditation from the RCP is an incredible achievement. The process was a great opportunity to demonstrate the team’s quality of work and remind themselves about this as well.
“Accreditation involved a self-review, a peer review by other professionals, and a review by the accreditation committee. We had to assess our service against our approved standards and identify and address areas for improvement.
“It was useful to have the opportunity to reflect on the service we provide and receive constructive feedback from the committee peer review team.
“The recognition assures patients, carers, frontline staff, commissioners, managers, and regulators that we provide the highest level of care to service users and are committed to continually improving the care we deliver.
“I would like to say a huge thank you to the team for the time and commitment they put into gaining this accreditation.”
Team members celebrated their success with an event in the beautiful Rusty Meadows garden outside their office. It is looked after by patients as part of an holistic approach to their wellbeing.
