Connect North celebrates Positive Ageing Month with community drop-in events
Connect North invites you to celebrate Positive Ageing Month by connecting with your community and taking positive steps to stay engaged.
As part of the Positive Ageing Month programme of events taking place in local councils across the Northern Trust area, Connect North is delighted to host a series of welcoming, community-based drop-in sessions. Delivered in partnership with Libraries NI, these sessions aim to promote wellbeing and help people stay connected.
Running throughout October, the drop-in sessions are free, informal and open to everyone. They offer a relaxed space to chat with a Connect North link worker and access information about local services, supports and ways to stay engaged in community life.
Positive Ageing Month coincides with the International Day of Older People, a global celebration of the important contribution of older people in our communities. The 2025 theme highlights the importance of social connection in enriching lives and strengthening community connections.
As we age, life transitions such as retirement, bereavement or changes in health can affect how connected we feel. The drop-in sessions can help support people through those changes, offering an inclusive and welcoming space to access support.
At each session, you can:
- Chat with a Connect North link worker
- Learn about local groups, services and events
- Access support and information in a friendly, informal setting
Whether you’re looking to find out what’s happening in your area, explore local supports or learn how to stay connected and involved, these events are for you.
