Trust Board
About Trust Board
The Board of directors (Trust Board) is the governing body of the Northern Health and Social Care Trust.
The Board comprises a non-executive chair and seven non-executive directors along with five executive directors, including the chief executive, who are full and equal members of the Board, with voting rights.
Together, they share responsibility for agreeing the priorities for the Trust, reviewing performance and outcomes, and making sure the highest standards of governance and personal conduct are in place and are maintained.
Meetings of the Board are held eight times a year, and members of the public are welcome to attend.
Board papers are also publicly available on our website.
Code of conduct and accountability
The Code of conduct and code of accountability requires Boards to draw up a schedule of decisions reserved to the Board, and ensure that management arrangements are in place to enable responsibility to be clearly delegated to senior executives. This is called a scheme of delegation. The scheme of delegation is included within the Standing orders (PDF).
Governance arrangements
The Trust Board has in place integrated governance structures and arrangements for good governance, and to ensure that decision-making is informed by intelligent information covering the full range of corporate, financial, clinical, social care, information and research governance aspects. This enables the Board to take a holistic view of the organisation and its capacity to meet its legal and statutory requirements and clinical social care, quality, safety and financial objectives.
A copy of the Integrated Governance Framework is available on request.
