Work experience, placements and apprenticeships
Work experience
Our work experience opportunities enable students to gain a greater understanding and awareness of the world of work whilst being supervised by individuals who already work in the same environment.
Work experience with Team North can vary from ‘tasters’ lasting just half a day through to programmes over one or two weeks, a few months or a year depending on the course undertaken.
Some offer a hands-on experience, while others provide insights, observation and work shadowing, all of which can provide a valuable experience for students looking to move into a career within health and social care.
Applying for work experience
Students cannot apply for work experince directly to a Trust staff member.
Instead, students should discuss their ambitions/work aspirations with their respective school/college careers advisor, who in turn should make a formal referral to Work Inspiration.
The Work Inspiration programme forms part of the Education and Jobs team within Business in the Community.
