Financial Support
Young people with a cancer diagnosis and/or treatment may find they are struggling to play catch-up with normal bills and day-to-day expenses but there is financial help for young people living with cancer. Your TYA team will provide you with information about how to access grants and other financial support that you may be entitled to. Here are some examples of local financial support:
CLIC Sargent
CLIC Sargent gives grants to young people to help with immediate financial needs. Any family with a child or young person aged 24 or under who is receiving treatment for cancer or palliative care can apply. Applications need to be made through a CLIC Sargent social worker or healthcare professional.

Macmillan Benefits Advisors
The Macmillan Benefits Advisors can help you by working out the financial help you may be entitled to and helping you to access it. The have specialist knowledge of benefits, tax credits and grants. You can speak to an advisor on the phone, tel: 0300 1233 233 and press option 1, or they can see you in the hospital.
