Bereavement Support Service
When a baby dies before or after birth parents and families can feel overwhelmed by their sadness.
We would like to extend our sympathy to you and your family at this difficult time. We appreciate that the days and weeks following the death of your baby can be bewildering and difficult.
The Bereavement Support Midwife is available to all women who have experienced a loss within the NHSCT Maternity Services.
All midwives can support and care for women who lose their baby. The Bereavement Support Midwife works closely with midwifery, medical colleagues and other professionals involved in your care. She is available to support you and your family providing you with extra support and guiding you with the decisions and arrangements that you need to make during this difficult time.
Everyone has individual needs following bereavement. You may wish to use this service during your hospital stay, or you may contact the Bereavement Support Midwife at a later stage.
