Stopping smoking in pregnancy is one of the best things a mother can do to benefit her health and the health of her baby.

Being pregnant is a great reason for giving up smoking. It is one decision that benefits two lives.

Research shows that you are 4 times more likely to quit with professional support, than going it alone.

Every pregnant women has her carbon monoxide (Co) levels recorded at booking appointment in line with NICE guidance. The following women are referred to our Specialist Midwifery Team for further support:

  • All smokers
  • Women with high carbon monoxide readings
  • Women who have recently stopped smoking

There is lots of help available based on your preference we are able to provide you and your partner with;

  • Face to face support
  • Telephone Support
  • Advice about managing cravings and stressful situations.
  • Information on what Nicotine Replacement Treatments may work best for you.
