Treatment Room Services
Treatment Room Services are available in all GP surgeries. This service provides nursing interventions as prescribed by GPs and Consultants to ambulant patients in primary care settings.
This service is provided by nurses who are employed directly by the GP Practice or by nurses who are employed by the Northern Trust.
The Northern Trust currently employs nurses to provide this service in 48 treatment rooms across the Northern Trust area.
The Treatment Room service provides a wide range of nursing interventions, including venepunture and other clinical investigations, post-operative and traumatic wound management, leg ulcer management, administration of vaccines and other injection medications, assisting GPs with minor surgical procedures and responding to emergency situations such as patients attending GP with chest pain, shortness of breath etc.
Most treatment rooms operate an appointment system. For more details on how to access your local treatment room please contact your GP.
