The Brook
The Brook is a supported living scheme in Coleraine, for 61 tenants who are classified within the dementia or cognitive impairment category.
The Brook is a joint partnership between Northern Trust, Fold Housing Association and the Northern Ireland Housing Executive. They are working towards an integrated model of supported housing with care for people with a diagnosis of dementia or cognitive impairment.
The Brook complex consists of:
- 25 x flatlets with en-suite facilities
- 31 x one bedroom self-contained flat
- 5 x two bedroom bungalows
The Brook provides:
- A range of accommodation built to a very high standard in an attractive surrounding
- Safe environment
- Staff on site 24 hours per day
- Innovative use of technology across the scheme to support people to live as independently as possible
Aims of the Brook:
- To provide supported living accommodation, to enable people with dementia or cognitive impairment to maintain their independence for as long as possible
- To provide opportunities for tenants to engage with other people, both in the Brook and in the wider community
- To deliver a high standard of care and support to all tenants in their own home.
