Positive Behaviour Support Service

The Positive Behaviour Support Service is a Trust-wide service, which aims to support people with a learning disability whose behaviour presents significant concerns. The service uses the least restrictive approaches to enable people to maintain appropriate community placements and to lead as ordinary a life as possible.

We support people using the Positive Behaviour Support Model.  We provide consultations, assessment and behaviour support plans. In addition, the service may offer training to staff teams, carers and families in order to increase their understanding of why a person may be displaying a certain behaviour and develop their skills on how to follow specific behaviour support plans.

Our Positive Behaviour Support Service has a consultant clinical psychologist, behavioural specialists, a specialist speech and language therapist, behavioural associates and support workers.
