Physical activity

Taking part in physical activity can play a vital role for all people affected by cancer, whether you are in the middle of treatment or on the road to recovery. A growing body of evidence shows that being active can play a vital role in helping to prevent a recurrence of cancer. It can also slow disease progression as well as reducing the side effects and consequences of cancer treatment, such as fatigue.

Physical activity programmes are available near you. Please get in touch with the Information and Support Team for more information about what is happening in your area.

Fatigue Management Workshops (Northern Trust)

Fatigue is a very common issue for people with cancer. Our workshops consist of two sessions each lasting 2 hours, running every three months in the Ballymena area. They aim to help you to understand what causes fatigue, how it affects you and recognise your own triggers, improve how you manage the demands of everyday life and understand the importance of sleep, exercise and diet in relation to fatigue.
