How to apply to become a volunteer

Application process

The process can vary depending on the role, but usually includes:

  • Complete an application form
    Send it by email to: volunteer.service@northerntrust.hscni.net.
  • Request an alternative format (if needed)
    We can provide a paper copy or another format—just let us know.
  • Have an informal chat
    You’ll meet the role supervisor to talk about the role and your suitability.
  • Provide two references
  • Complete checks (if required)
    We’ll arrange an Access NI check for roles that need it.

How long does it take?

The application process usually takes around 4 weeks.

What happens next?

You’ll attend a volunteer induction before starting your role
