There are two main ways you can get involved and help us improve palliative care services: by sharing your feedback about your experiences, and by becoming part of our Palliative Care User Involvement Network.
Sharing your feedback
The Northern Health and Social Care Trust would like to hear from people with a palliative condition, as well as their carers, family and friends.
Your feedback matters to us. Whether your experience was good or there are things that could have been better, your views help us learn, improve our services and plan future care.
One way to share your experience is through Care Opinion. Care Opinion is a safe and trusted website where you can tell your story about health and social care services. It encourages open and honest conversations and allows services to listen and respond.
You can share your story online through Care Opinion at a time that suits you. Your feedback is anonymous and helps us understand what is important to you and your family.

Palliative Care User Involvement Network
For those who would like to have a more active role, our Palliative Care User Involvement Network offers an opportunity to get involved in shaping services. User involvement means working in partnership with service users, carers and the public in the design, delivery and evaluation of care.
Whether you choose to share your experience or become more actively involved, your voice plays a vital role in helping us improve palliative care for everyone.
There are many different ways to get involved:
- Giving advice on content and design of patient information booklets or leaflets
- Proof reading documents and policies and providing feedback
- Being part of a project group that is reviewing or developing a service
- Helping with training content or talking to staff about a care experience
- Sharing your care experiences
The Palliative Care User Involvement Network is open to anyone in the Northern Trust area who:
- has a palliative condition and is receiving care, or
- cares for, or has cared for, someone with a palliative condition.
If you would like to get involved and become part of the network, please get in touch.
