The Orthodontic Service is based at the Specialist Dental Services Building at Antrim Area Hospital. It provides treatment for people with more complex teeth and jaw problems.

Who can use this service?

This service is for patients with severe or complex conditions, including:

  • Problems with how the teeth fit together (bite problems)
  • Facial or jaw differences that may need jaw surgery
  • Cleft lip and palate
  • Missing teeth that have not developed (hypodontia)
  • Sleep apnoea (a condition that affects breathing during sleep)

Care is often provided by a team of different specialists working together.

We also offer advice and guidance to local dentists and orthodontic specialists.
