If you’re pregnant, getting the flu vaccine is one of the best ways to protect yourself and your baby.
Pregnant women are more likely to become seriously ill from flu and may need hospital treatment.
The flu vaccine:
- Helps protect you from serious illness
- Helps protect your baby during pregnancy
- Cannot give you flu
- Has been safely used by pregnant women for many years
Common side effects are mild and may include:
- Soreness where the injection was given
- A slight temperature
- Aching muscles for a day or two
