Dalriada Hospital

Dalriada Hospital provides care for patients who need extra support after a stay in an acute hospital. This includes further assessment and rehabilitation to help recovery after illness or injury.

The hospital also provides palliative care for people with serious or long-term conditions

The Regional Multiple Sclerosis (MS) Respite Centre is based at Dalriada Hospital, where people with MS can access short breaks (respite care).

Public transport

There is no train station in Ballycastle, but you can take the train to Ballymoney and a use the Translink bus service from Ballymoney to Ballycastle.

Free parking is available.

Help with travel costs

You may be able to get help with the cost of travelling to your appointment through the Hospital Travel Costs Scheme.

You could be eligible if:

  • You are on a low income
  • You need treatment at a hospital, health service centre or approved clinic
  • You have been referred by a consultant

Smoke Free Policy

The Northern Trust is a ‘Smoke Free’ Trust, in line with Government regulations. Smoke free means that smoking, including using electronic cigarettes, is not permitted in any areas of the Northern Trust, including all buildings, doorways, grounds, cars and car parks.  There are some very limited exemption arrangements which are consistent with current legislation and regulation.
