Cancer research is carried out across Northern Ireland by the NI Cancer Trials Network in each trust.

Each research study tries to answer scientific questions and find better ways to prevent, diagnose, or treat cancer. There are many different types of clinical trials; all aim to improve the lives of people living with cancer. Referrals can be made from Antrim Area Hospital for any patient wishing to take part in a clinical trial that is not currently on offer here but is available at the Cancer Centre at Belfast City Hospital.
