The Community Equipment Service provides equipment to help people live safely and independently at home.
We supply, deliver, collect and recycle equipment that has been recommended by a healthcare professional for people living in the Northern Trust area.
What we provide
- Equipment includes:
- Adjustable (profiling) beds
- Pressure-relieving mattresses
- Moving and handling equipment, such as hoists and slings
- A range of daily living aids
Assessments
If you think you or someone you care for might need equipment, help is available.
Talk to a healthcare professional involved in your care, such as a:
- District Nurse
- Occupational Therapist
- Physiotherapist
They will listen to your needs and carry out an assessment. If equipment would help, they will arrange this for you through the Community Equipment Service.
If you’re not sure who to contact, your GP or another member of your care team can help guide you to the right service.
Delivery and collection
Our centre has facilities to clean, store, deliver and collect community equipment, using our own team of delivery vans.
- We deliver equipment to your home after it has been prescribed
- You can keep it for as long as you need it
- When you no longer need it, we will collect it or you can return it to us
If you are able, you can collect and return smaller items directly to our centre.
