Domiciliary care means providing support to people in their own home. This can help people who are frail or have long-term care needs to continue living independently.
Support can include help with personal care (such as washing and dressing) and everyday tasks around the home.
The Trust provides home care services to over 2,300 people. We also work with approved independent organisations who deliver care in people’s homes.
If you receive home care, details of the support you need will be recorded in a care plan kept in your home.
All Trust and independent home care services are regulated and inspected by the Regulation and Quality Improvement Authority (RQIA) to ensure quality and safety.
Reablement Service
Our Homecare Reablement Service is a short-term service for new domiciliary care referrals.
It helps people regain skills and confidence after illness or injury, so they can live as independently as possible at home and in their community.
Help with meals
If you are unable to shop for or prepare meals, we can help you arrange support.
Where needed, a homecare worker can assist with reheating meals.
Where the service is available
Domiciliary care is available across all Northern Trust areas, supporting people in their local communities.
