The Ear, Nose and Throat (ENT) Service provides specialist care for adults and children with conditions affecting the ears, nose, throat, head and neck.
We offer assessment, diagnosis and treatment across a number of hospital sites in the Trust, including both outpatient clinics and inpatient care.

- Our team includes:
- Consultant ENT specialists (otolaryngologists)
- Specialty doctors
- Doctors in training (specialist trainees)
- ENT specialist nurses and registered nurses
- Audiologists, who assess hearing and provide treatment and support
Conditions we treat
We assess and manage a wide range of ENT conditions, including:
- Allergic rhinitis
- Dysphagia (swallowing problems)
- Earache
- Earwax
- Glue ear
- Hearing loss
- Mastoiditis
- Nasal polyps
- Nosebleeds
- Otitis externa (outer ear infection)
- Otitis media (middle ear infection)
- Sinusitis
- Tonsillitis and quinsy

- Antrim Area Hospital (Outpatients 1 and 2, Level B, opposite the main entrance)

Inpatient services
We provide:
- Day case procedures
- Planned (elective) surgery
- Care for patients who need an overnight stay
Surgery takes place in dedicated operating theatres, with appropriate recovery and inpatient facilities for both adults and children.
Outpatient services
Our outpatient clinics provide assessment, tests and ongoing care for many ENT conditions. Most patients are treated without needing to stay in hospital.
