Physiotherapy helps patients to restore movement and function after illness or disability. Our inpatient physiotherapists work across all specialist areas within the hospital, working closely with patients, families and other healthcare professionals to plan treatment that will help individuals improve or maintain mobility and function, and to support patients being discharged from hospital.
The inpatient physiotherapist may also work to assess your breathing and help with techniques to improve this.
We provide physiotherapy for patients staying in hospital. This service covers a wide range of areas, including:
- Surgical wards
- Medical wards
- Children’s services (paediatrics)
- Gynaecology
- Maternity
- Intensive Care Unit (ICU)
- Medical Assessment Units
- Cancer care (Oncology)
- Rheumatology
