Community Occupational Therapy

Community Occupational Therapy helps people live as safely and independently as possible in their own home, or in a residential or nursing home.

We work with people who are finding everyday activities more difficult because of illness, disability, injury or changes associated with ageing.

How we can help

An occupational therapist will work with you to understand your needs and identify ways to help you remain independent and carry out daily activities safely.

Support may include:

  • Advice on managing everyday tasks
  • Equipment to make activities easier and safer
  • Recommendations for adaptations to your home
  • Support to improve your independence and wellbeing
  • Advice for family members and carers

Home adaptations and equipment

Following an assessment, we may recommend equipment or changes to your home to help you move around safely and manage daily activities more independently.

This could include adaptations to improve access, mobility, personal care or safety within your home environment.
