Causeway Hospital Maternity Outpatients tour (text version)

Hello and welcome to this tour of our maternity facilities at Causeway Hospital.

When you enter the hospital at the front door you will be situated on ground level. Maternity Outpatients and the Maternity Care Clinic are located on Level 1.

You can now take the lift or stairs to level 1. Once you arrive on Level 1, go left and walk down the corridor towards the Maternity outpatients department.

The Maternity Outpatients Department hosts several of our antenatal clinics. The department provides a community midwifery space for both pregnancy and post birth appointments.

Antenatal care is delivered by our committed team, which includes administrative staff, midwives, doctors, nurses, senior nursing auxiliaries, and maternity support workers. We operate as a multidisciplinary team, facilitating both midwifery and obstetric clinics.

Certain anomaly scans are conducted here as well as in other outpatient departments across the trust.

Our Causeway site is the hub for our Lotus continuity of midwifery carer team. The Lotus Team is a small team of midwives offering continuity of care throughout your pregnancy, birth and beyond.

The maternity outpatients department is also where you will meet your midwife during your first scan and appointment.

Additionally, our outpatients department serves as a venue for various antenatal education classes, including pregnancy yoga, GRFB, breastfeeding and multiples workshops and meet the midwife events for the Lotus team.

In the same area as the Outpatients department you will find the Maternity Care Clinic. The Maternity Care Clinic is a facility that allows for procedures to be completed in pregnancy, such as infusions, blood tests or glucose tolerance tests, all facilitated by our team of dedicated midwives.

We hope you have enjoyed this virtual tour of our maternity facilities at Causeway – we look forward to meeting you and feel privileged to care for you at this special time.
